Caterers in Cambridge
Catering in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire.
We're Rudd Catering - a family-run team based at South Wootton near King's Lynn, regularly catering weddings, corporate events, private parties and funeral receptions across Cambridge and Cambridgeshire. No fixed packages: every menu is built around you, your venue and your guests.

Cambridge is a regular run for us. From college gardens and city venues to barns and marquees in the surrounding villages, we bring the same approach everywhere: modern British food built on fresh Norfolk produce, prepared by our own team and served by people who care about your day going well.
Because we cater marquee weddings and garden parties week in, week out, a venue without a kitchen is no obstacle. We arrive early, set up a working kitchen on site, and stay right through to the end - tables cleared, glassware collected, everything left as we found it. Ryan or Sophie will personally walk through the plan with you beforehand.
We cover the whole of the city and the surrounding area - Grantchester, Trumpington, Great Shelford, Sawston, St Ives, Huntingdon and everywhere in between - as well as the wider county from our base near King's Lynn.

Cambridge catering questions
The practical answers, plainly.
- Do you cater events in Cambridge?
- Yes. We travel from our base at South Wootton near King's Lynn to cater weddings, corporate events, private parties and funeral receptions across Cambridge and Cambridgeshire throughout the year.
- Is there a travel charge for Cambridge events?
- Cambridge is a little beyond our standard 25-mile working area, so a modest travel charge may apply. We always discuss this openly and confirm it in your written quote before you commit to anything.
- What kinds of events do you cater in Cambridge?
- Weddings in barns, country houses, college gardens and city venues, corporate lunches and awards evenings, milestone birthdays, christenings, anniversary parties and funeral receptions. We also offer private dining, afternoon tea, sharing platters and hog roasts across Cambridgeshire.
- Can you cater at a venue that has no kitchen?
- Almost always, yes. Marquees, barns, village halls and gardens are our bread and butter - we bring everything we need with us and set up a working kitchen on site. If we haven't catered at your venue before, we'll happily visit beforehand to plan it properly.
- How much does catering in Cambridge cost?
- Every menu is quoted individually, but as a guide: hog roasts start from £36 per guest, afternoon tea from £42, and plated wedding menus from £59 per guest. Our menus and pricing page has the full detail, and Ryan will confirm exact figures in a tailored proposal.
- How far ahead should we book for a Cambridge event?
- For summer weddings we recommend getting in touch 12 to 18 months ahead, as peak Saturdays go quickly. Corporate events, parties and funeral receptions can often be arranged at much shorter notice - it's always worth asking, even at the last minute.
