A plated wedding breakfast is the most considered way to feed a room. Every guest gets the same dish, at the same temperature, at the same moment - and the day gains a shape that guests can feel: sit, settle, eat, speeches.

We are a family-run catering team based at South Wootton, just north of King’s Lynn, cooking for Norfolk weddings every year. We plate in barns, marquees, halls, licensed venues and private gardens across King’s Lynn, Downham Market, Swaffham, Hunstanton, Fakenham, Dersingham, Wisbech, Ely and the villages in between.

Menus are written for your day rather than picked off a list, and courses can be mixed with our social dining platter menu however suits you. Ryan will talk it through with you personally.

How the day runs

Plated service, shaped around your day.

Canapés on arrival

Four per guest while photographs happen and the room fills. Warm, cold and something with a little theatre - it sets the tone before anyone sits down.

The wedding breakfast

Courses are plated at the venue and carried out in a controlled flow, so each table receives its food promptly, at the right temperature, and nothing sits under a lamp.

Pudding and the pause

Plated puddings, then the self-service tea and coffee station while speeches run. We work the timings around your day, not the other way round.

Evening and beyond

If you want something later, hog roast rolls, mini fish and chip cones or bacon rolls can follow the plated service - all costed openly in the same proposal.

Plated catering questions

The practical answers, plainly.

How much does plated wedding catering cost per person?
Our plated wedding menu starts from £59 per person for two courses with canapés, and from £66 per person for three courses with canapés. That includes four canapés per guest, service staff, a self-service tea and coffee station, linen, glassware and tableware. Prices apply to weddings and events over 60 guests - get in touch for more intimate occasions.
Do we get a tasting before the wedding?
Yes. Weddings and events over 60 guests include a complimentary tasting for two, so you sit down to the actual courses you are choosing between before you commit to the menu.
How many choices can our guests have?
Most couples pick two options per course, with guests choosing in advance so we can plan the kitchen properly. If you would rather set one menu for everyone, that works beautifully too.
Can we mix plated courses with sharing platters?
Yes - a plated starter with sharing mains, or sharing starters with a plated pudding. Courses can be mixed freely between our plated and social dining menus.
Do you need a kitchen at the venue?
Not necessarily. We regularly plate in barns, marquees and village halls with our own equipment. Some venues need extra kitchen kit or power, which we will always flag and cost openly before you book.
How long does plated service take?
Allow roughly two hours for three courses with a room of 100 guests. We agree the running order with you and your venue so nothing feels rushed.
Do you cater vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free plates?
Yes - vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other requirements are cooked with the same care as the main menu, never as an afterthought. Catering for specific dietary requirements and allergies may incur an additional cost because of the extra preparation time and specialist ingredients involved.
How do you handle allergens?
Every menu comes with a full UK 14 allergen sheet. Our kitchen handles all allergens on a regular basis, so no menu can be guaranteed to be allergen free.
Where do you cater plated weddings?
We are a family-run team based at South Wootton, just north of King's Lynn, covering Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Lincolnshire - including Downham Market, Swaffham, Hunstanton, Fakenham, Dersingham, Wisbech and Ely. Events more than 25 miles from PE30 may carry a small travel charge, discussed openly up front.
