Glorious Godwick
Back at Godwick Great Barn for C & D - long bare tables with burgundy napkins, a barrel bar in the ruins, and three desserts (yes, three).

A couple of weeks ago we returned to Godwick Great Barn for the first time in a long time. It was wonderful to be back! The reason for this was being asked to cater for C & D's big day. From our initial meeting and tasting with these guys we knew what a special day they had planned.
C & D opted for long, bare tables with burgundy napkins tied in the fashionable knot. Alongside this we laid our glassware and cutlery. The tables were finished with beautiful tall flower arrangements by Charlotte Staff Flowers. An outdoor barrel bar supplied by Array Wedding and Event Hire was set up under a marquee outside for the drinks reception - which looked lovely with the gorgeous view of the Godwick ruins.
As guests arrived we greeted them with a bar full of beautiful Adnams Rosé fizz, white fizz and beers, alongside canapés: tomato, onion and basil crostinis, cream cheese and parma ham crostinis, mushroom arancinis, Tracy's famous cheese straws and honey mustard sausages. As always we could barely get outside the door before these were swept from our boards.
Wedding breakfast was a choice of fillet steak with dauphinoise potatoes in red wine jus, or our very popular chicken with sage and onion mash in a creamy white wine sauce. The bride was vegetarian and opted for our vegetable moussaka with a Jerusalem salad. Usually guests have a choice of two desserts, but C & D were so undecided at the taster they ended up with three - chocolate brownie, salted caramel cheesecake and Eton mess.
It was lovely to be back at Godwick and we were very well looked after by Hannah, Jenny and their colleagues. We had a great day and we thank C & D for choosing and trusting us for their big day. Soph x
